Wang Thai Kitchen

 |

At work, part of deciding what to eat for lunch stems from the question "What would you like to have for lunch today?"

In response to the above, my colleague who is a fan or Thai food, had cravings for Thai food. So I did a little search at hungrygowhere.com, and found a Thai Eatery at our office vicinity.

We were first served with Basil Chicken. I thought it tasted pretty normal - like minced meat in oyster sauce and long beans. I'm not sure if it tastes authentic, as I haven't tried the "real thing". But since my colleagues gave very neutral comments on this, I guess it was neither fantastic nor yucky.

What is Thai Food without Tom Yam Soup? So my colleagues ordered a small port of Tom Yam Soup to satisfy their cravings.

When it arrived, we figured that the Tom Yam soup was not THAT spicy, since it was clear soup. On the contrary, it is SUPER SOUR AND SPICY! I coughed a few times after having a sip because the spice and the chilli really gave me an itchy throat.

We also ordered Salted Egg Fried Rice, which garnered a few thumbs up and praises.

The Green Curry Chicken was also not bad. The only thing I gripe about is how small their portions are.

The Thai Mango Salad which we ordered for appetizers arrived last, and we ended up having that as dessert instead.

To be honest, I didn't like this dish since I'm not a fan of salad or sour stuff.

That's ok. I've never really been a fan of Thai food anyway. That said, I don't think I will be coming back here (on my own), as their food is a tad pricey and the food doesn't really appeal to me. Honestly, I'd rather spend the same amount of money on something more familiar - like Fish Soup or Mcdonald's.
