Stand By Me

 |

What happened from a bout of barfing session due to the horrible combination of beer and curry, led me to deeper insight of the man whom I love.

See, before the contents of my stomach came gushing out, I was weak in my knees and my stomach hurled. Gathering whatever strength or energy that was remaining in me, I ran to the kitchen and lunged at the sink, spewing a fraction of my dinner.

After the first round of barfing session finished, I uttered "dearrrr.."

No response.

"Dearrrrrrrr..." My weak voice trailed a little longer before he ran into the kitchen. Seeing the state I was in, and the gross mushy contents in the sink, he immediately ran behind me, held me tightly at my hips, while the second barfing session continued.

Background: He held me from behind because he was afraid that I would have another fainting spell again.

When it was finally over, I realized his grip on my hips was still firm. Cleaning myself up and rinsing my mouth, I rested my head on his shoulder, before looking up in his eyes and saying "I'm sorry."

Honestly, I didn't know what I was sorry for. Sorry that I had an unglam moment? Sorry that I made him worry? I don't know.

Anyway, with a worried look and tone, he asked "Are you ok? Feeling better?"

..

While the rest is history, reflecting back on this incident made me realize that the BF has got my back, and I can rely on him in whatever situation.

It's as if he always knows what to do when something happens.

And it is this realization that warms my heart and soothes my stomach on the night of the incident. Because reminiscing through the 9 years that we've been together, it dawned upon me that he was always there for me, and giving me whatever support I needed.

Thank you dear, for standing by me all this while.
