"A little kindness can change the world for Jesus."
Those were the words that rang in my heart when I offered to share my umbrella with a malay woman beside me on the way to work. Her eyes filled with gratitude as she looked at me and agreed. Just like that, I felt the touch of her hand on my shoulders as we cuddled under an umbrella to get as much coverage as possible. Even though it was a short distance, just 2 buildings and a pedestrian crossing to be precise, I felt good and warm despite the cold raindrops on my arms and legs.
Thank God I took the initiative to ask her, because I knew that my heart would be overwhelmed with regret and guilt if I didn't. Throughout the walk with her, she still cracked a light tease of how I should cover myself more because she has a tudung. Still, I smiled at her and didn't budge. I'm neither a Samaritan nor a Saint, but just an ordinary person who wants to offer a little bit of kindness, just like Jesus.
