Alone On A Friday

 |

Everyone loves Friday don't they? Fridays are days that mark the end of the week - students meet up, go clubbing and do all sorts of things while working adults chill out, spend time with their family, and well, do all sorts of things too. :)

Last friday, however, was the day I spent it with myself after I had dinner with dear. It might seem queer to spot me alone in a crowded street. After all, almost everyone around me has some kind of company. Anyway, since I had to take the train home after dinner with dear (because he had a meeting), the nearest MRT station was Orchard and I decided to walk around Orchard first before taking the train home.

My original intention (shopping aside) was to take night shots of landscapes in Orchard. With that in mind, the first shot I wanted to take was the new shopping centre, ION. So I figured that the best view to take ION was at Shaw Centre, which was diagonally opposite.

But before I started snapping away, I decided to patronize the shops along the building that were located in cute Gazebos.

And that was where I bought this bag for $25.00! Pretty cheap for its size and look and I am especially satisfied when people compliment it.

After my shopping, I went ahead to take pictures of ION as mentioned. Coincidentally, there were no vehicles on the road because it was red light at the traffic junctions.

Photobucket
Then I crossed the road and took a picture of Wheelock as well. I've always thought that the triangular glass structure looked somewhat like a Christmas Tree.

Here's a picture of the glass structure in Wheelock from bottom up. Isn't it pretty with all the lights?

After Wheelock, I proceeded to take the new underpass that leads to ION. When I arrived, I had to rush to the toilet to answer natures call. Took this picture (above) despite my urgent need for the bathroom because it seemed pretty humorous to me. Haha what's with the multiple Male and Female symbols?

Photobucket
And when I stepped into the toilet, I was surprised and impressed with the decor and the layout of the bathroom. It looked so classy, clean, filled with the smell of Vanilla that lingers in your nostrils even after you've walked out of this place. Very very nice!

Photobucket
Love how the light falls on this corridor that is in fact, cubicles. I think the only time I've seen a toilet this nice was when I was in some kind of 5 star hotel.

Photobucket
Thereafter, I was decided that it as wiser to take the lift to the highest floor and walk my way down slowly. As you can see from above, Ion is really spacious and gives a classy, elegance feeling to its shoppers.

Photobucket
Finally, I went outside to take more nightshots of ION, as well as the other landmarks in the vicinity.

Photobucket
I'm quite surprised that I was able to take this shot of the water sprouting out of the ground. Love my camera!

Photobucket
Here's a picture of Shaw and its surrounding buildings. That was also where I started off my photo journey.

Photobucket
Love the pillars in this picture (above). Thank goodness for a wide angle lens as well.

Photobucket
Another close up view of ION. Unfortunately this was the best I could do because to take the whole of ION, I'd probably had to stand in the middle of the road.

Photobucket
Lastly, the escalators that lead to Orchard MRT. All in all, it was a good experience being alone, enjoying the night scenery, and not forgetting the shopping experience.

Hmmm. I probably should do this more often.
