Hock Lam St. Beef Noodles

 |

When it comes to eating meat, I haven't been very adventurous and tend to consume chicken and fish most of the time. But I do make a point to eat beef once in blue moon, especially when I patronize Jack's Place, Tony Roma's, or even Cafe Cartel.

Just today, my friend decided to join my for lunch and he recommended that we eat Beef Noodles from a particularly famous stall. Since the stall was walking distance from my workplace anyway, I agreed and followed him to this famous Beef Noodle stall.

Fortunately when we arrived, there were seats for us which was especially uncommon considering how packed this stall can get during the lunch peak hour. So we sat down and I ordered a bowl of their famous Beef Kway Teow Soup. Well if you are more adventurous than I am, and love innards, you can try their 'mixed' Beef Kway Teow (dry or soup) where the stall owner will mix include a variety of Beef innards other than just Beef meat.

As mentioned, I've never been adventurous with my taste buds, especially when it comes to beef, mutton, pork etc.. So as I ate this dish, I was very cautious of the taste and the quality of the beef. In fact, I was so picky that I intended to not finish my food if I didn't like the taste.

Anyhow, I tried the soup first. It wasn't thick and salty, but rather tasty especially when you drink it with some preserved vegetables and bean sprouts. Kway Teow was very bouncy and well cooked - not too soft or too undercooked. Beef was also easy to chew, and was rather tangy yet pleasant.

And though I commented to my friend that it was just 'ok', I am actually craving for their Beef Kway Teow Soup at this very minute! Indeed, I would recommend this to you guys if you people are Beef Lovers! :)
