RWS: Universal Studios

 |

Last week, my mom asked if dear and I are interested in a family stay at Festive Hotel at Resorts World Sentosa, which included tickets to Universal Studios and the Voyage De La Vie Show. Without hesitation, dear and I agreed!

A week later, on a sunny and bright Friday, my family and paternal grandparents were in my dad's car heading towards Resorts World!

Since Sentosa does not allow motorcycles to enter, dear took the free shuttle service from Jurong East to Resorts World Sentosa. Though the shuttle bus services come in intervals, it was a fast bus ride as there are no stops along the way. So essentially, it's a straight ride from Jurong East MRT Station to Resorts World Sentosa.

There are other places that provide free shuttle services to Resorts World Sentosa too. The list of places and bus interval timings can be found here. If you're intending take a different mode of transport, you can take a look at your available options here.

Any how, our rooms were not ready when we arrived at Festive hotel. Hence, we proceeded to my uncle's room, which was located at the 8th floor (with a lovely lounge area) to put down our stuff before heading to Universal Studios.

But before we left with Universal Studios, I managed to take a snap shot of the view of my uncle's room overlooking other hotels. Love the lighting and shadows with the sun and clear blue sky!

As the Casino is one of the main highlight of Resorts World Sentosa, we decided to stop by the Casino to take a group picture first, since it was along the way to Universal Studios.

Arriving at Universal Studios, dear and I were blown away by the whole atmosphere, that we literally felt that we were in another country altogether!

Any how, we really thank God because we managed to spend the first hour taking photos and walking through all the different sections / themes. We then caught the Water world show at 1:00PM, and when we finished, we managed to catch another show. So basically, we managed to watch all the shows back to back.

As for the rides, we didn't take all as some of the queues were way too long. We did however, take The Mummy roller coaster ride which was indoor and boy it was SCARY! The roller coaster literally plunged into DARKNESS AND TOSSED YOU UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT! Throughout the whole ride, I was closing my eyes but I didn't scream. For rides like these, somehow I open my mouth but fail to scream.

We managed to take another ride at the Sci Fi section as there wasn't much of a queue. That was pretty ok, but it may cause dizziness for some.

Other than that, we took loads of photos which can be viewed here. One of my favorite shots is the one above. We look very happy indeed.

At about 5 plus, dear and I headed back to the hotel to check into our hotel rooms as I had to prepare to leave for school at 7pm.

As Festive Hotel is family oriented, you can see that there is an upper deck bed for kids in the Family Suite. (It's the staircase on the left of the picture above)

TADA! This is where I sleep. It looks small, but actually it is a Single sized bed so it's perfect for me. The upper deck is a bit high though (even by my standards). Well, maybe kids don't really mind climbing up and down the stairs unless they are afraid of heights.

As for dear, he slept on the couch, which folds out to be a double bed. So he's pretty comfy too!

Since I had to attend school, I was not able to see Universal Studios in the night, where all the lights seem to create a different atmosphere.

Fortunately, I passed my dad my camera and he managed to catch this shot as shown above, and thus I was able to catch a glimpse of Universal Studios in its night view.

Despite having a fun filled day, dear and I could only fall asleep in the wee hours of the morning, thanks to the coffee session with our friends after my class ended.

All in all, it was a TERRIFIC day, filled with fun, joy, excitement, and love. It's been a long while since I've had so much fun with my family, and this time round, I am glad that dear was able to be part of this experience :)
