Angus Steak House

 |

We had our office Christmas Celebration Dinner at Angus Steak House today.

To be honest, being tasked to choose a Christmas Celebration Dinner venue was a tad challenging because I seldom eat in fancy restaurants, and more importantly, both dear and I like Western Food so my choice will tend to be biased towards Western or European Restaurants.

Furthermore, I WANTED TO MAKE SURE that the food is at least above average (to my standard), and that the ambience has to be something either cosy or "quiet" so that conversations can still be heard, and because it's the Monsoon Season, parking in a covered carpark would be good.

So after reading reviews at Hungrygowhere and other food blogs, I finally chose Angus Steak House.

Arriving punctually at the Angus Steak House, the white decor with gold words and door handles immediately gave me the classy and upscale feel.

Entering in, I was embraced with what seems like the old colonial and british decor and ambience. It was quiet, dainty, and quaint.

As we originally made reservations for 10 people, we were given their private rooms which was a nice gesture on their part. And even when some couldn't make it, they allowed us to use the room for free as long as the total bill exceeds SGD 300.00.

So we started making our orders and the first dish that arrived was the Fresh Oysters. I didn't try this because I don't take much seafood; much less RAW seafood.

We were served with bread next. Unlike the usual slices of bread from a baguette, we were served with buns, which was really tasty and fragrant as well.

Dear and I also ordered a Mocktail for each of ourselves. Mine was fruity. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try his.

The Main Set Meal that we ordered came with the Hor d'oeuvres, which was served shortly after the Buns and Oysters.

Other than the fish being a little dry, everything else was not bad.

Our soups were served next too. I changed my Soup of the day - Clam Chowder, to Minestrone.

Dear and I also decided to order Mashed Potatoes and Fries for our Side Dishes. In my opinion, I thought that the mashed potato tasted too buttery and hence, it was difficult to finish my food.

It wasn't long before our Main Course - Tenderloin Steak (200g) arrived. The thickness of the steak really made the steak look succulent and juicy.

Despite the softness of the steak, I wasn't able to enjoy my meal properly mainly because of my braces. That said, I still prefer Lawry's steak to Angus Steak House.

Lastly, we had Tiramisu for our dessert. I am not a fan of Tiramisu as well, so I don't know how a good Tiramisu should taste.

Any how, I'm quite sure the rest had a good time with the food - I'm just being a fussy pot!
Regardless, it was a good night spent with fun-loving people. Cheers and Merry Christmas guys!
