Birthdays are usually a time where family, relatives and loved ones gather together for a celebration, and yesterday, my family and relatives from my mom's side gathered together for my grandmother's birthday!
Usually, grandmother's birthday celebration would be held during lunch time, but this time, we had it during Tea-break. Expecting a good spread of food, dear and I decided to give lunch a pass since we weren't hungry anyway. Instead, we decided to stroll through Holland Village, which happens to be around the corner of where Grandmother resides in.
On a side note: We saw Glenn Lim and his wife at Ya kun in Holland Village yesterday. We went over to shake hands, said a friendly hello and chatted for a while, what a coincidence!
I don't visit Holland Village often, probably annually I guess. But each time I re-visit this place, it gives a cosy feeling, warm feeling. Here, you can see shophouses, eateries, cafes, pubs lined adjacent to each other. At night, it is bustling with activities especially at Wala Wala Cafe Bar where many flock back for its friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Be seduced by their music played by live bands, and expose your taste-buds to their food delights
Holland Village Market & Food Centre! I hear they serve nice Nasi Lemak? Hmm, one day I should really try some..
.. More shophouses. Dear feels hot and sticky, that explains.
Yum yum! Great food even for Tea-break! Sushi, ham, chicken wings, pizza, yam cakes, birthday cake and more!
