Folks These Days

 |

Perhaps with the Chinese New Year mood in the air, even aunties are being more "garang!" (Malay slang which means daring).

I bumped into this lady on Saturday while waiting for the bus to church. As I stood behind her, I couldn't help staring at her colorful hair.

As I looked closer at the jarring array of colors of this lady's hair, an image of a parrot came into my mind. I smiled. Then an image of one of Singapore's local dessert - 九层糕 came into my mind. I smiled again.

It's funny when I think about it. The older generation often disprove of the younger ones dying their hair, having tattoos, or body piercings, yet some of them go the extreme of dying their hair with loud colors.

Any how, looks like the definition of fashion in different generations vary to a considerably large extend :)
