Church Camp 2009 (Day 3)

 |

After a hearty breakfast on the third day, the youths took a group shot with our youth camp T-shirts on.

We then proceeded to the Lobby where we had to wait for the Mini Vans to arrive and pick us up for our shopping trip!

The minivans were like the ones we took on the first day to the Hotel. However not all the youths went, so there were more space for us to stay comfy in.

First stop was the Polo T shirt store. Since I'm not a fan of T-shirts, I didn't get any. Anyway, I came to Batam with a quest: that was to get 3 full face helmets in Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre.

Second stop was the dry food store, where crackers and tidbits of different sorts could be found.

Beside the tidbit store was a craft store that sells ornaments carved out of wood. They also had keychains carved out of wood, and provided free engraving services to personalize your very own keychain.

Finally, the last stop was Nagoya Shopping Centre. When I alighted from the minivan, I walked right to the Information Counter to ask for directions to the helmet shop.

Tada! There it was as! Shelves of helmets to choose from. I bet dear would have gone ecstatic if he saw this!

After getting the helmets, I met some of the youths at A&W. Ha ha they were all eating their chicken and drinking their Root Beer Floats in delight.

After the shopping trip, some of the youths headed down for a swim. I on the other hand, drifted off to dreamland while watching some telly.

At the last night of the camp, it was the Oscar Night where everyone had to be dressed in their best. So I got up from my beauty sleep and prepared myself for the event.

As you can see, people were streaming in and chatting with one another before they could enter into the ballroom.

Slowly, the ballroom started to be filled with people.

I had an opportunity to take a group picture of the waiters who have served us faithfully over the past few days.

The brothers in our youth took a group shot before entering the ballroom. In fact, it was mandatory for anyone to take a picture before going into the ballroom.

Since I didn't have any partner, I took a picture with my dearest sister Jaime instead. My dress was a good deal: $10 from Alano.

A group shot of the youths that were sitted in my table.

And another group shot of youths that were sitted in the other table.

Part of the program included a birthday celebration of all the June babies. Too bad I didn't get to try the cake.

The long queue of people that were queuing for their food. I guess everyone was starving after all the photo taking and the icebreaker games.

But the highlight of the Oscar Night was this:
