But time and time again, my orthodontist has proven gentle, patient, and humorous! I am so, SO THANKFUL for her.
So today, I went for my second extractions as well as my filling. As usual, she began the session by spreading some gel on top of both my left top and bottom gum. Throughout this time, I had my earphones on and I was blasting some very loud christian music. It is a very good distraction indeed.
After which, she cautioned that she will be moving on to the injection. My stomach lurched and I quickly closed my eyes. As usual, I DIDN'T FEEL A THING, so I peeked to see if she has begun. To my surprise, she was already injecting my gums but I couldn't feel a thing – not even a prick! She injected twice on both the upper and bottom upper gums before injecting the inner upper and bottom gums, which stung a little.
As she wanted to wait for the anesthesia to take effect fully, she took this time to a small filling. Since I've never done it before, I was expecting the worse kind of pain I can possibly imagine. But my orthodontist was so thoughtful. She knew that I had a low threshold of pain so she did the filling while spraying some water in my mouth while the filling was being done. End up, I didn't feel anything! Fantastic!
She then continued with the extractions. As usual, there were lots of tugging, and I felt so vulnerable and powerless. Thankfully for the anesthesia, I didn't feel any pain during the extractions.
So now, I have 4 teeth less. Which means that I have only 24 teeth left. Someone please remind me as to why I made this choice.
