Coffee Club Cuisine

It's the exam period once again, and as usual, I'm stressed. Somehow, this month has been filled with changes and there are just so many things going on. But I shall leave those updates for any day.

So as I was saying, exams are round the corner and I am not particularly delighted because the modules are less appealing to me, which makes it a tad difficult to study, hence the lack of motivation and drive.

But since I am fully aware of the consequences of not studying hard as per my past experience, I decided to get some help from a fellow classmate who let's just say, is the more intelligent species.

So we met up at Coffee Club last week to go through some queries and doubts I have about a module. But before we got down to opening our books and notes, we decided to have dinner first.

As I had my braces on and had trouble biting, ordering baked rice seemed like a good idea because it's mushy (as so I thought) and I was hungry anyway.

Several minutes after we've ordered, our food arrived and upon first glance at my baked rice, I uttered a silent "uh-oh" in my head. The baked rice was spammed with cheese in a soft-yucky-gooey manner. Ignoring my disgust for the cheese, I dug my spoon in took a bite. Lo and behold, the rice was not as mushy as I thought it was and I was really disappointed.

My friend had the lobster pasta which I didn't get to try unfortunately.

P/s: I didn't get the names of the dishes because quite frankly, I didn't think it was nice to be worth remembering or mentioning. Simply put - I don't think I'll have the baked rice ever again.

But the saving grace of Coffee Club is their Mud Pie. At first, I thought it was just ordinary mud pie but since my friend insisted on ordering it, I just went with the flow.

When the mudpie arrived, I was surprised by the portion of it! Gosh it was so big that two of us shared and we were so full! Also, the mud pie isn't like the usual - brownie and ice cream. 90% of it is a mix of two flavours of ice cream (chocolate and cappuccino I think) with a hard oreo base. Since I am a ice cream fan and a recent convert from strawberry to chocolate, this dessert was simply delectable!

So next time you are popping by Coffee Club for some drinks and would like to order some cakes or pastries, give the Mud Pie a try instead!
