The Spongebob In Me

 |

Maybe it's the bright yellow color or the bright blue eyes.. or even the contagious laughter; but there's something about Spongebob Squarepants that make me squeal like a little girl.

So you can imagine my reaction when I saw the poster that says "Meet Spongebob at 4:00pm" while shopping at Giant in Vivocity. I literally grinned to myself as I excitedly texted the boyfriend.

30 minutes later, Spongebob arrived punctually and the kids started shouting his name. To save myself from some embarrassment, I stood close to where the parents were, as I contemplated if I should join the queue, take a free polaroid picture and redeem a limited edition mug.

Minutes later, the thick-skinned and oblivious me went ahead to queue with the kids and their parents. Fortunately, the queue wasn't long and I was able to quickly take a polaroid picture and redeem a free mug before vanishing from the site.

Though (I think) I was the only single adult in the queue, I really thought it was worth it. I mean, how do I often get to see Spongebob in the streets or in Shopping Malls, right?
