Primarily Penang

 |

When dear told me that he was going on a 1 day business trip to Penang the day before, I was both excited and glad because it was something different from his usual job scope and yet a very rare opportunity - tell me which employer would send a 24 year old overseas to get a job done, and top of that, rent a car for him to travel about Penang?

What a lucky fellow!

Anyway, I headed to the airport to meet dear. It was my first experience picking him up and I was excited to see him and hear of his Penang experience!

While waiting, I noticed some commotion outside the arrival halls where I stood. Not sure what was going on, but I guess it has something to do with people coming back from Cebu on Silkair. You can definitely infer that I don't read the news much.

Finally, I saw a familiar figure walking towards me and it's him! We then went off to have some drinks and dear just went on yakking about his Penang trip.

After the whole chit chat session on Penang and what are the places he'll never visit again, he opened his bag and passed me 2 "souvenirs" - A Spongebob pillow and a Rabbit nail clipper. Naturally, I squealed with delight because he was thoughtful enough to get me my favorite Spongebob and a Rabbit nail clipper because I like Rabbits. Sweet fellow isn't he? :D

Dear went on to show me the pictures he took on his Penang trip:

The car that his company rented

His face revealed both excitement and anticipation

One of Penang's attraction: The Penang Bridge

After his job was done, he had lots of time to spare. Unfortunately his GPS unit was down so he had to navigate his way with a map of Penang.

Attractions of Penang which dear cannot remember

Lunch at a highly hygiene suspicious food stall

Yet he still can order what seems like a plate of Mee Goreng and have no stomachache. Surprisingly, it was the milk from the Ice Teh Si that he drank at Changi Airport T3 that caused a huge stomach upset!

More places he visited with absolutely no recollection of their names

Chinese Chamber of Commerce

Horses looking for food

.. And that concludes his trip to Penang. If only I could tag along. Pfffftt!
