Rama Thai Sharksfin

 |

In lieu of dear's graduation, his folks decided to bring him out for dinner at Rama Thai Sharkfins Restaurant last Sunday.

I'm usually not a fan of Abalone, so I didn't order a plate for myself. Dear let me try some though, and hmm.. it tastes a bit like mushroom don't you think?

Sharksfin was served next. It was the first time I saw a pot full of sharksfin, and probably the first time I ate REAL SHARKSFIN.

Another dish that I've never tried before is The Bamboo Clams. Honestly, I thought it tasted like squid since the clams have similar textures as well; rubbery and chewy.

After which, we were served with Broccoli and Scallops. I hate to admit this but I've never ate Scallops in my whole life and dear insisted that it tastes similar to Crab Meat. So I tried, and well, I think my tongue isn't too scallop friendly.

Nonetheless, I ate the scallop on my plate!

Following which, we were served with this huge Red Fish. I'm not sure what it's called though. But it tasted pretty ok.

Lastly, they served us with Pineapple Rice. If you'd ask me to eat pineapples, I'll probably scrunch my face and give a disgusted look.

Unforunately, it isn't really nice to do that in front of his folks right? So I picked out all the pineapples in the rice! Haha it was painstaking, but really worth it!

After the hearty dinner, dear and I had the capacity to eat some more so we ordered dessert. He had Mango Pudding, which he liked.

For me, I had this peach ice cream thingy. When it arrived, I was trying to find ways and means to pry open the peach skin but to no avail.

Just as I was about to give up, I decided to give it a last shot and viola! It turned out to be Peach Ice Cream inside and the Peach Skin is actually milk chocolate.

Splendid dessert I must say!

All in all, dear and I were enjoyed our day with good food, good weather, and good company. Love the weekends!
