Among the list of things I hate the most, I'd say that having a dental appointment is one those items near the top of the list.
Perhaps I've been traumatized by the several dental surgeries I had when I was in Primary School. Back then, I had teeth growing in weird places (i.e. the soft palate), I was frequently chided for not keeping my teeth clean enough, and I especially abhor the sound of the scaling apparatus scraping my teeth.
But it has been almost 10 years since I last visited the dentist. I was actually trying to avoid any dental appointments at all cost. However, my mom decided to schedule a dental appointment on my behalf since she was scheduling hers as well. I agreed reluctantly.
Yesterday at 2:30PM, I arrived at Tampines Polyclinic punctually. After registering and settling the admin work, I waited for my turn.
It didn't take long before my number was flashed on the board. I walked to the clinic door, knocked twice, and opened the door.
To cut the long story short, the dentist scaled and polished my teeth, and I had to come back for another session of filling.
All in all, it was a uncomfortable dental session once again. But I'm glad that at least I walked out of the dental clinic with a better looking smile. I guess that indeed, no pain no gain!
