YA Seafood Trip 2010

 |

Yesterday, dear and I joined the Young Adults for a Seafood & Durian Trip at Sungei Rengit. Since it is the first time for us, we were pretty excited for a day of shopping and food galore!

Since there were 12 of us, we rented a mini van (with a driver) at RM 550 for the whole day.

Arriving at Sungei Rengit, we proceeded to Good Luck Restaurant. However we took some time to order the dishes as we couldn't settle for how we would like our lobsters cooked, whether our crabs should be black pepper flavored etc.. Ha typical of us!

The first dish that was served was Hot Plate Egg & Tofu. Being a fan of eggs, I loved this dish!

We were served with Kang Kong next. I thought that it wasn't too spicy which was a good thing since my tongue can't stand too spicy food.

The third dish was Cereal Prawns. Now dear usually peels the prawn for me (because I don't know how to peel it well), but yesterday, I peeled the prawns myself; which I thought was quite an achievement haha!

Other than that, the cereal tasted crispy and sweet. However the prawns were a little unequal in size because there were a few large prawns and the rest were just small prawns? Not too consistent huh.

Then came the Black Peppered Crabs. Here's another confession: I've never ate crabs myself before for fear of dirtying my hands and I simply do not know how to eat it (by opening up the crab and sucking the meat in between).

But this time round, I decided to get my hands dirty and I must say, I did enjoy the black pepper taste! The crab was good too!

Next up was the Lobsters. We ordered 4 Salted Egg flavored, 3 Cheese flavored, and 3 Butter flavored. Other than the Salted Egg flavor, I didn't get to try the other flavors. But even for the Salted Egg flavor, it was really really good.

By the way, it was my first time eating Lobsters too! So there I was, getting my hands all dirty with the sauce as I pry open the shell for the very delicious thick lobster meat.. what an achievement!

Last of all was the Steamed Fish. Though it looks small, but it is actually quite huge. In fact it was 2 kg!

After a heavy and sumptuous lunch, we went to Jusco at Tebrau City for some shopping. There, my eyes glanced upon this very stylish and nice wet shoe. Without must hesitation, I bought it at RM 180+.

Coincidentally, there was a male version of the wet shoe and with much persuasion, dear bought it for himself as well. We were also given a free Adidas Gym Draw String back as we purchased 2 shoes at one go.

For our last destination, we heeded Darren's recommendation and headed to Pandan's City. Upon arrival, we were drawn towards the Durian Fair located in front of Pandan City. That was when we decided to have durians before dinner.

Unfortunately, we had so many durians that we were too full to have dinner! Gosh we were surfeited with different kinds of durians; mainly sweet and bitter, that we were burping durian gas at the end of our durian session.

I however, was very very satisfied because I am a big durian lover. Ha ha!

Well with so much food, shopping, and durians, looks like we'll be avoiding Seafood and Durians until the next YA outing! :)
