Kruzer: Lake Kenyir 2010 (Day 2)

 |

The next day, we took a 45 minutes Lake Cruise to have a look at a waterfall at one of the islands. Yes you heard me right. The cruise took 45 minutes because the lake is really BIG! And mind you, 45 minutes is just the time taken for a one way trip from the resort's jetty to the waterfall!

When we finally arrived at the island where the waterfall is located, we had to follow the trail into the forest that leads to the waterfall. Here, I was in much stress as I feared that I might encounter some insects and go screaming off like a little girl.

After 10 minutes of walking up and down several flights of steps, we finally arrived at the waterfall.

As seeing the waterfall is simply not enough, Kruzers decided to make their way down to the waterfall as they trekked down the slope filled with soil, foliage and rocks. Despite dear's continued persuasion, I refused to trek down because of the fear of heights and insects. It's embarrassing, I know. But it's really hard to overcome this phobia!

So there I was, on top of the bridge while everyone was enjoying the cool waters of the waterfall. Then, Mama Jo - the leader's wife persuaded me to come down and I finally agreed. With much help from her, Isaac (leader of Kruzers), and dear, I managed to finally arrived at the waterfall! It was a huge feat, and I'm so glad to have made it!

As trekking down to the waterfall was quite a stressful experience for me, I quickly found a nice spot to settle down and rest. But dear was much more adventurous (as from the picture above), as he started swinging to and fro on a piece of rope like tarzan before landing into the waterfall and repeating this act again.

Anyhow, it was soon time to leave, and that means trekking UP to where we came from. Because I'm one who has a terrible footing, I required the assistance of FOUR guys to pull me up. It's so embarrassing! But I'm really thankful for their help!

Though we were a little short of breath while walking up the long flight of steps leading back to the island's jetty, everyone was still in high spirits!

Moving on, we stopped by another island for a Herb Garden Tour, where the men had a sip of natural brewed Tongkat Ali while the ladies had some other female tonic. After which, it started raining cats and dogs, so we ran back to the jetty for shelter and to wait for the rain to simmer down before taking the boat back to the resort.

When we finally arrived back at the resort, we decided to have tea break at the restaurant due to our lake cruise to the Waterfall and Herb Garden. After which, the guys decided to have some fun at the pool slide before heading back to the chalet for a bath.
