Hotel Fort Canning - Dame On A Hill

 |

For the past 3 days, I was helping out at with the August Man A Listers Retreat which was located at Hotel Fort Canning. With exciting and fun challenges that filled our days, you bet that I was exhausted by the time I returned back to my hotel room every night.

Fortunately for me, the rooms of Hotel Fort Canning gave me one of the best rest and rejuvenation, and that (as well as coffee) kept me going till the end of the retreat.

But apart from the nice comfy bed with its soft and warm blankets, I must say that I love whole glass and open concept that I think is distinctively unique to the hotel. Which is why I've dedicated one post just to tell everyone how much I loooovvvveeee this hotel.

Most of our rooms are as such, with the toilet having an open concept and a bathtub that's situated within an arm's length of one's bed. The glass door that covers the Shower Area isn't twofold however. So if you slide the glass door over the Shower Area, the Toilet Bowl area will be revealed.

I think it's a little kinky and naughty in a tastefully designed manner. Lucky thing for my roomie and I, we were given better rooms...

..Like this! I simply love every part of my hotel room! The bed, the toilet, the Internet TV.. Ok let me quench my excitement and elaborate why this room is simply stunning.

It has got a nice fancy see through toilet with colonial looking doors. The big glass window in front of the toilet sink allows us to bathe or brush our teeth with the backdrop of the city. On the left of the door, there's a shower area that is enclosed with glass. It also has a rain shower which makes me go "ahhhh..."

On the right of the toilet lies a nice and clean bathtub.  It was a shame that I didn't get to give that bathtub a try during my stay at Hotel Fort Canning. There simply wasn't enough time.

If one wants privacy, there are blinds that can be electronically controlled for one to shower / soak / use the loo without the fear and worry of someone peeping through the glass wall.

Another interesting feature is this Speaker, which can charge one's iPhone / iPod / iPod touch etc and play music at the same time. Oh boy, my roomie really loves this!

I was more intrigued by the above control panal which had these cute and awesome neon lit buttons. Can you imagine? This control panal feels like a glass surface, so there isn't actually "buttons" per se. Feels more like a touch screen thingy which to me is really awesome.

Another thing in the room that caught my eye is the Nespresso Machine! And the best thing is.. the coffee capsules are free!

Lastly, I was simply fascinated by their Internet TV which was controlled by the wireless keyboard. It's just so cool!

That said, I will definitely recommend Hotel Fort Canning to you guys if you are looking to stay somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the city life (yet within the city itself), and amidst a lush foliage and greenery.

Though this is a boutique hotel, I am wow-ed by their attention to detail, as well as their modern yet colonial interior design. I will definitely come back here one day!
