But one fine day, my colleague and I passed by Thai Express at Junction 8, and their bright promotion poster caught my attention.
"Hmm.. $8.90 for these lunch sets. That's quite reasonable." So I nudged my colleague and suggested Thai Express for lunch.
We then got seated after 5 minutes or so because their restaurant was pretty crowded.
Here's what my colleague ordered - Beef noodles. Though this looks like an ordinary bowl of beef noodles, but trust me, IT IS A HUGE PORTION. In fact they were so generous with their food portion that by the time I finished my meal, my colleague gave me that stoned out look, followed by a burp, while half of her bowl was still filled with beef meat.
As for me, I ordered their Lunch Set: Tom Yam Fish Soup with rice, which includes a side dish and a dessert - both of which I cannot remember what their dish names and what it was exactly.
But anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch despite the spicy and a tad sweet Tom Yam Soup. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, and the fact that I was enjoying my meal even though it's THAI FOOD.
With that, it's no wonder I walked out of Thai Express filling very satisfied, and very proud of myself for making a very brave lunch decision.
