The Hidden Gem

 |

Usually when I visit a new eatery, I'll blog about it regardless of the good or bad review and/or experience. After all, it is good to share with others if the food is darn yummilicious, or if the ambience is alluring. Reversely, it is good to warn others if the food sucks big time, or if the service staff provides a poor service.

But for this new eatery that I've been to, I am really reluctant to share with you guys. This is why..

Now after looking at these pictures, you might ask what's the big deal. Well, when I first arrived at this place, I fell in love with it straight away.

Hidden in a cosy and quiet corner of Portsdown Avenue, this place is the perfect venue to unwind over a beer, chill-out with friends while enjoying a quiet and breezy night. Which is why I'm hesitant to share with you all this hidden gem I've found. Because once too many people get to know about it, it ain't gonna be quiet anymore.

But if you are like me - one who enjoys a quiet and cosy corner that's away from the crowded, then drop me an email and I'll let you know the name of this bistro.

But with regards to the quality of the food, I'll probably rate it a 3 out of 5 stars.

NACHOS ($12.80): Crunchy corn chips served with cheddar cheese dip, sliced jalapenos, sour cream and red-hot tomato salsa

BBQ TREBLE COMBO ($32.80): ¼ BBQ Chicken, ¼  Baby back ribs & Smoky Beef sausages in their special BBQ Sauce

I didn't quite fancy the baby back ribs or chicken because of the overwhelming BBQ taste, which quickly bore my tastebuds. I however, like the beef sausages because of the juices that squirt in your mouth when you bite into them.

It is at this eatery that I come to know about Fruli Beer - a sweet and tasty beer for those with a sweet tooth! Speaking of which, I'm quite sure that my sweet BF will fancy this.

Lastly, we also tried their HOT CHEYENNE WINGS ($17.80), which is served with celery and carrot sticks, tossed in their special hot sauce. Because most of us are quite terrible with our spiciness threshold, we settled for "The Bad" which is their level 2 of hotness.

If you are more adventurous and would like to try "The Ugly" (level 3), it would cost a tad more. Likewise if you order Level 8 (which is not stated in their menu), the prices will increase accordingly.

So in essentially, more spice = more price, in which case, I'd rather go with less spice for lesser price, and save myself from an a numb tongue and a hot ass when I answer the call of mother nature the next day.
