Men & Ladies Fellowship 2008

 |

Last saturday, I had a chance to attend the combined Men & Ladies Fellowship held by my church at Raffles Marina.

The itinerary included a session of Financial Planning by Apelles Poh where we could bring along our friends and relatives for this holistic talk, followed by some bowling fun, and finally some extravagant makan! (Makan: the malay meaning for food)

Unfortunately, I totally forgot to bring along my camera (and that doesn't normally happen) and so I had to make do with my 2 megapixel iphone camera. So do bear with the photos!

When you enter Raffles Marina, you will be in awe of their grand decor and furnishing. Wow.
I was really amused by little decorations and ornaments that were displayed. Though I have no idea what they are for, it sure was different from the usual displays like paintings, vases etc..
Ah, the Raffles Marina bell which signifies the official opening of this place. No wonder they enclosed it in a glass box.
Since Christmas is approaching, I saw this Christmas tree by the stairway. At the other grand stairway, I was intrigued by the large statues. Very grand indeed. Before the Financial Planning talk began, we had a wonderful time of Praise and Worship. As you can see, it was full house!
After which, we had some bowling fun! I bet dear was so excited that he quickly rushed to the bowling ally and started getting his shoes, setting up..
Then, more people started flowing in and the game of bowling began. I however, was not interested in bowling so I wandered about the premises with my camera.
Here is the pool that has a backdrop of artificial rocks that create a waterfall effect. Hmm, makes one feel at one with nature. At the corner of my eye, I spotted this stone wall and I was so mesmerized by it because it made me recall of those scenes in Mama Mia!

This few shots were taken in the morning, before the Financial Planning talk began. Since we reached earlier than the bus, we hanged out by the docks, smelt the morning sea breeze and enjoyed the beautiful scenery before dear's phone buzzed. He is a busy man I guess!
Yup that is us in a 'strictly-no-entry' zone tee hehe! Actually, we didn't see the sign but oh well, since we already there, why not hang around a bit more for some pictures?

Here's the dock where sailboats and yachts are berthed. I love the morning sky, especially the puffy clouds.
Correct me if I am wroing, I guess here is where some of the boats are stored, if not fixed? Really clueless about such things.
While walking to the extreme end of the dock, I saw this ship that was larger than the rest!
This is by far my most favorite picture taken of Raffles Marina. It has sort of the East meets West feeling with the beautiful background of the sky and the sea.

Being adventurous and nosey, I went to the highest level of the tower and saw this binoculars! Peeping inside, I was amazed at the magnification of it!
And of course, you can see the overview of everything right at the top!

Finally, we had a heavy and extravagant Chinese lunch at Captain's Table. I think we had 8 dishes of food served? Ha ha it was like a wedding dinner, just that the bride and the groom were missing.

Well, looking forward to the next Men & Ladies Fellowship!
