Batu Pahat 2009 (Day 1)

 |

Unlike last year, this year's combined Ladies and Men's fellowship for my church was a 2 days 1 night stay at Batu Pahat from 9th to 10th August. Itinerary included lots of shopping, food, games, fellowship so immediately, dear and I signed up! But of course, there was no coach catered so while the rest travelled by cars, dear and I travelled by bike.

A prayer for journey mercy and good weather before we left.

Haha dear and I look like terrorists or some kind of bank robbers right?

Because it was a long weekend, many Singaporeans travelled into Malaysia as well, causing quite a queue at Malaysia's customs. Fortunately there was no queue for the bikes so we waited quite a while for the rest (cars) to gather.

Photobucket
First stop was at GP Esso, where we had our toilet breaks, water breaks, ice-cream breaks and whatever not.

After exiting Ayer Hitam from the Nouth South Highway and travelling through the smaller roads, we finally spotted the motel that we will be residing in

Photobucket
We gathered at the lobby while waiting for our keys. As you can see, everyone's a little tired from the ride.

At 6.00pm, we then crossed the road and headed to our dinner venue which was coincidentally just across the road. Love the oriental feel of the restaurant! The following are what we had for dinner:

Obviously, all of us had a good time and were really satiated by that sumptuous meal!

We then walked over for some night shopping at a shopping mall located just behind our motel. Well, the walking was a good form of exercise of eating so much.

However at 8:22pm, dear and I decided to show off our patriotism publicly by reciting the Pledge in the shopping mall! Here we go:

Don't ask me why I'm grinning from ear to ear! I have no idea either.

At 9:30pm, we headed back to our motel and the guys headed to Room 315 whereas the girls headed to Room 219. At first we weren't told of what this whole "surprise" activity was all about. It was only when Auntie Mei told us that we were going to have quiz and games that us girls decide to make it less competitive by not keeping score.

Photobucket
About 10pm, we were done and decided to head over to Room 315 (where the guys were) to see how they were doing.

Photobucket
After games and fun, we headed out to a nearby hawker for supper.

Photobucket
After everyone settled down and got their seats, we began ordering drinks and food.

Photobucket
As you can see from above, we had plates of Stingray, Oyster Omelette, Carrot Cake etc..

Photobucket
Not forgetting Cuttlefish and more Oyster Omelette (from other stalls).
