Kite Flying & Claypot Fun

 |

Most Sunday afternoons, dear and I would either slack at home after lunch, or meet our friends.

But today, we, together with our friends decided to attend a Kite Flying session organized by our dear friend - Arthur.

We met up at Seng Kang Shell station at 2PM and moved off at 2:30PM to one of the open fields in Seng Kang / Punggol. (Ooops! I'm not really sure which open field it was!)

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a windy breeze, nice sun, and lots of open space for some major kite flying.

Even Zack and Jo's dog - Val, seems to be having her own share of fun running about and well, barking at strangers.

Fortunately, dear and I came prepared. We brought extra shirts to change after Church Service, snacks, water, my huge umbrella for shade, and 2 foldable chairs.

Since most of us didn't have kites, dear and I decided to buy one. After all, what is kite-flying without a kite? Thankfully, there's an uncle who sell kites and interestingly, he even has a catalogue for the kites that he sell.

So I flipped through the catalogue and immediately, my eyes set upon this very cute penguin kite. Though dear wasn't much too interested in the design (and would like to have his hands on a kite asap), he was still game for a photo with Mr. Penguin.

In fact he even had time to goof around with the penguin kite. Hahahaha!

Up up and away! Our kite was soaring in the skies.

All of us enjoying a session of kite-flying with each other's company.

Likewise, dear and I enjoyed it too. Think we should do this more often!

Love this shot as well. Thanks to the self-timer function on my camera.

After which, we decided to head down to Claypot Fun at East Coast Park for dinner.

Address: 902 East Coast Parkway Block B #01-11

Walking into the restaurant, one is immediately greeted with an endearing ambience of the past. Decorations such as tiffin containers and vinyl records, to wooden furniture and vintage posters, create a nostalgia of the past.

We ordered 2 claypots - one small (for 2 pax) and one big (for 3 to 4 pax). For the smaller one, we ordered beef with egg.

For the bigger one, we could actually combine 2 flavors of Claypot and enjoy a discount of $2. It is cheaper than ordering 2 small claypots and paying the sum of 2 small claypots.

We also ordered a cabbage as our side dish.

For dear and I, we ordered soup for ourselves. Being a cantonese, I've always enjoyed a bowl of soup for my meals. The above is Lotus Soup With Old Cucumber.

Overall, I would rate a 7/10 for the food. But for service wise, I wouldn't have such high hopes. The average waiting time for the food to be served is also about 15 to 20 minutes, which is pretty long for an impatient person like myself.
