Today dear and I decided to have a kite flying session with our friends – Arthur and his girlfriend, Claudia.
At about 2:00PM, we arrived at our usual spot – Seng Kang Field. Unlike the usual, there were not much people on the field.
But that's alright, we decided to open our mat and set up our stuff while waiting for Arthur and Claudia.
If you're wondering what the Balacavas are for, they are actually used by bikers for many functional reasons. We decided to make our Balacavas useful by wearing them and preventing the sun from burning our scalp.
Finally, Arthur arrived! Doesn't he look extremely amusing with his trousers pulled up so high! HAHA!
So off they (Dear and Arthur) went to fly their kites. Unfortunately, there wasn't much winds today, and dear decided to take a rest after several unsuccessful attempts.
In the end, dear decided to take a nap. So off I went with my penguin kite, in hope that I can fly it up high despite the lack of consistent wind.
Indeed! Arthur and I managed to get both our kites up after so long! Gosh the satisfaction is truly great!
A few hours later, 2 other friends joined us and shortly, we went to the nearby Mcdonald's (just a stone's throw from the field) to get some drinks and rest.
When we came out of Mcdonalds, we were so stumped to see the whole sky filled with kites! They are acutally the tiny dots in the picture!
But it sure is a happy feeling, to see so many people take on this new hobby of kite flying. It's as if we are reliving those simpler times where people enjoyed playing marbles, hop scotch, or catching.
Hence I strongly believe that such leisure activities; especially kite flying, are healthy and meaningful. Depending on the company, such activities though simple, can bring about an incredibly simple form of happiness and an innocent time of fun.
