Bliss By The Lake

 |

One thing I love about Facebook is how people share information i.e. what they are doing, where they are, food reviews, places they have been etc. And it is through the sharing of such information that I got to know about Laurent Bernard Chocolatier, Sugar Granny Cafe, and more recently - Bliss Restaurant.

Actually, I knew about Bliss Restaurant some time ago but didn't have a chance to check it out. Last night however, I managed to drag dear and our mutual buddy to check them out with me.

Arriving at Bliss Restaurant at 8PM on a Saturday night, I was surprised that the carpark was pretty packed. Well that could be due to the lack of carpark lots. But gosh, there were quite a few cars waiting to get a lot, and some didn't really care and parked any-o-how. Anyhow, having a parking problem sure suggest that Bliss Restaurant is pretty popular I guess.

As we entered Bliss Restaurant, I noticed that their air-conditioned area is pretty small, and the bulk of their diners were seated outside in their open area facing the lake. I was quite skeptical at once, as I am one who likes to be comfortable in an air-conditioned place.

However, my doubts soon vanished when we finally got seated as I felt the gently cool wind from their many ceiling fans.

As dear hasn't had his dinner, he ordered a Main Course and topped up a set which consists of Soup, Salad, and Drink. Like most restaurants, their choice of soup is Cream of Mushroom.

It took quite a while before his main dish arrived - Tenderloin Steak. However, dear mentioned that the steak and gravy wasn't piping hot as it should be. In fact, it was rather warm (towards room temperature) and well, he didn't have the best impression.

Since I had dinner and was craving for something cold and sweet, I decided to give their waffles with Ice-Cream a try. When I had my first bite, I was actually very surprised at how good it taste! Waffles were not like the usual I've tried - hard and crispy. On the contrary, it was very soft, warm yet firm. I like it a lot!

When we were finally done with our meals and just as we were beginning to enjoy the mood and atmosphere, something flew into one of our empty glass and upon closer look, it was a GRASSHOPPER! Thank God dear was quick enough to place a saucer above the cup before I yelped out a shout.

All in all, the three of us enjoyed our time at Bliss Restaurant. Though it was briefly interrupted by a clumsy grasshopper, we agreed that it was a good place to chill out because of the natural setting and crowd. Give a try and let me know if you're with me :)
