Southern Ridges (Part 2)

 |

The working adults will know how precious Public Holidays are. So unless the activity on the Public Holiday is something fruitful and meaningful, I think most would stay at home and rest.

What constitutes as fruitful and meaningful then? A healthy activity, more specifically - a walk? How about a 22KM walk through (almost) half of Singapore?

Yes! For this Deepavali Public Holiday, dear and I decided to rekindle the feeling of aches and pain since our last Southern Ridges Walk 3 years ago. This time however, we decided to spread the healthy lifestyle to our friends, of which 5 agreed to join us.

Our route (11km):
West Coast McDonalds -> Clementi Woods -> NUS -> Kent Ridge Road -> Science Park Drive -> Kent Ridge Park -> Hort Park -> Alexandra Arch -> Preston Road -> Depot Road -> Henderson Waves -> Mount Faber -> Vivocity

We spotted a Hornet's nest along Kent Ridge Park! Kudos to the brave boyfriend who got close enough to take this shot.

Disclaimer: This picture was absolutely taken on his own accord. No, I wasn't the crazy, demanding, and unreasonable girlfriend who nudged him to take a close up picture of the nest. I was at a distance, giving a very constipated look, as he approached the nest closer.. closer..

The healthy bunch that joined us. You guys made this walk fun!

The view of our end point from Mount Faber. Just.. a .. little.. more...

Though it was raining after we had our lunch, dear and I decided to brave the rain and walk back somewhat the same route. As for the rest of the guys, well they had their own plans and didn't join us in our return leg of the walk.

So there we were, huddling under the umbrella, walking hand in hand into the greens and enjoying each other's company. To me, that's just how Public Holidays should be spent.
