What does crispy fried fritters, sweet and tasty prawn paste, lots of peanut toppings, fresh cuttlefish, and kang kong have in common? Well, they are all ingredients of a local fruit and salad dish called Rojak (a malay term for mixture).

And today, I had a chance to try (what my colleague claims as) the "Best". Rojak. Ever.

Taking the escalator to Gourmet Paradise Food Court, you can hardly miss the queue for the Rojak stall that's formed near the base of the escalator.

After queueing for about 15 minutes or so, we finally got our hands on our Rojak. As you can see, the portion is quite big for a plate of $3 rojak. Furthermore, they are very generous with their peanut toppings and other ingredients like cuttlefish, kang kong, and tao pok (fried dough fritters).

But in my opinion, what makes it good is their sweet, tasty prawn paste, and crispy fried dough fritters. The generous peanut toppings also added some crunch to the crispiness of the fried dough fritters, making it even more delicious.

So if you're at Toa Payoh area, do give this a try. But perhaps you'd want to come a bit later to avoid the lunch crowd and the queue!
