Kruzer: Cherating 2010 (Day 1)

 |

June is usually the month where dear and I go for church camp. Unfortunately, I can't make it this year because of school on 10th and 11th of June.

Coincidentally, we heard that the Kruzers are having a Cherating Trip over the weekend so dear and I thought hey, we could join them since it wouldn't affect my school schedule.

On 11th June at 11:30PM, we met up with the rest of the Kruzers at GP Esso. After waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, as well as a short briefing, we moved off at 12:45AM.

It didn't take long before we arrived at our first petrol stop. Here, we found a small kitty wandering about and because it was so small, we almost stepped on it!

Apart from the tale of the cute kitty, we waited at the petrol station because the chain from one of the riders snapped along North South Highway.

Fortunately we had a bike mechanic along this trip, who brought along a spare chain link to fix the problem. Phew!

Before arriving at our second Petrol Stop, we stopped by a 24 hour Mcdonalds for some breakfast. Well, we humans need to refill our tummies too!

Arriving at our second stop, some of the riders took a short nap after refueling. Hmm, somehow this trip seems more tiring than the Phuket Trip that we went some weeks ago; even though the distance is much shorter.

Perhaps the lack of rest from the night before could be the reason why.

By the time we moved off from our second petrol stop, it was soon to be dawn. I took a quick snap of the sun peaking across the horizon. How beautiful are His creation!

Like all good times which don't last long, the sun rose in the sky and it was morning. Loved how the skies was so clear, and the air so fresh and cooling.

After a quick refuel at our third petrol stop, we quickly made way to our destination at Cherating - Tanjung Inn!

As you can see from above, the wooden chalets all built in traditional Malay style and are set around a lotus-filled lagoon. In addition, the chalets are only a few metres from the beach!

After settling down and taking some minutes of shut eye, the Kruzers head out for lunch.
We stopped by a local coffee shop about 15 km from Tanjung Inn. There, I ordered Chicken chop while dear ordered Mee (something).

Arriving back to Tanjung Inn after lunch, dear, myself and our friends decided to head down to the beach to take a look.

Suddenly, we saw a familiar figure walking towards us and it was Isaac! He asked us along to chill out a nearby bar. Hmm, between the hot sun and some cold drinks, we'd definitely go for the cold drinks!

Later in the afternoon, as the tide receded further, some of us decided to dip in the warm sea. Ahhh.. ultimate relaxation on a weekend!

Love how the beach is so clean, with clear seas, sand bars, low tides, and beautiful clear skies!

Soon, it was dinner time and Isaac brought us to Tong Juan Restaurant where they are famous for their stuffed crabs!

There you go! Tons of stuffed crab meat beneath the shell. Fantastic! No longer does one need to exert force to pry open the crab and suck its meat!

After a sumptuous meal, the Kruzers head back to Tanjung Inn and chill out at the same bar by the beach. Dear and friends played a game of pool while I sat in the corner and enjoyed my ice-cream.

All of a sudden, we heard fireworks in the air and all of us were pleasantly surprised. Later, we found out that one of the Kruzer members proposed under the sky of fireworks. How sweet!

Before we ended the night, some of the members gave Mama Jo and Chow a birthday surprise!
Ha ha! What a day of fun! It's no wonder I had a good nights sleep!
