Unlike his previous birthday, we both took leave. So in the morning, he popped by my place and I surprised him with a cake..
Despite the afternoon rain, we headed down to Plaza Singapura to catch the movie "Real Steel".
Ps: The storyline of this show is good, and the ending is quite touching. I loved it! *Gives 2 thumbs up*
After the movie, we took a nice stroll down to Lawry's, The Prime Rib, which is located at Mandarin Gallery.
Just like last year, we ordered their traditional and most popular cut - The Lawry's Cut, which comes with:
1. The Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad
Crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, watercress, shredded beets, chopped eggs and croutons, tossed with our exclusive Lawry’s vintage dressing on a bed of ice
2. Yorkshire Pudding
Baked in small skillets until puffy and golden brown
3. Idaho Mashed Potatoes
American favorite - whole potatoes, cooked, then whipped with milk until smooth and creamy
4. Whipped Cream Horseradish
And as usual, we thoroughly enjoyed the well flavored, big slab of meat.
I was also able to arrange for a small complimentary cake to be presented to the birthday boy when our dinner was over. But in addition to presenting the cake, the Lawry's staff actually sang a birthday song for him!
Looking at his surprised and happy smile, I know it was totally worth it.
